Black Spectacles is NCARB’s First-Ever Approved Test Prep Provider

First and only NCARB Approved Test Prep Provider for all 6 divisions of ARE 5.0

Black Spectacles is the first and only NCARB-approved test prep provider for all six divisions of the ARE 5.0!

After NCARB launched their Approved Test Prep Provider Program we were given the stamp of approval from NCARB for two divisions, growing our credibility across all divisions shortly thereafter. Currently, all of our materials for all six divisions of the ARE 5.0 are NCARB-approved.

Why were we approved?

After careful consideration and analysis from NCARB, they determined our content is consistent with what candidates will experience on the ARE. Feel confident in your pursuit of a pass, that utilizing our materials which reflect the objectives on the exam is the best preparation you can have.

Which divisions and materials does this apply to?

Literally, all six divisions. PPD, PDD, PcM, PjM, PA and CE all have the distinct honor of being approved by NCARB. All of our materials fall under the NCARB-approved distinction as well. Learn more about our variety of content - from Practice Exams to Virtual Workshops for every division.

Not only is Black Spectacles NCARB-approved, but we also see greater pass rates than the NCARB-reported national average overall and when broken down by division. Candidates who self-report only using Black Spectacles see a pass rate of 72% whereas the NCARB national average is 54%.

We’ve taken the confidence NCARB instilled in our program and doubled down - we’re guaranteeing if you use our Expert membership to the fullest, you’ll pass the ARE. If you don’t, we will call NCARB and give you a seat credit to use towards your retake. You do the work and you get rewarded, it’s as simple as that. Learn more about our guarantee program so you can add “Licensed Architect” to your signature sooner rather than later.
